POROUS TUBE FILTER

POROUS TUBE FILTER

The Tube Filter (PTF) is a specialized deep-filtration device designed to effectively remove solid impurities, dross, and unwanted compounds from molten aluminum. This process significantly enhances the surface quality of cast products and ensures high purity in the final aluminum output.

The PTF applies advanced ceramic tube filtration technology developed by Mitsui Kinzoku. As molten aluminum flows into the unit and passes through the ceramic tubes, impurities are trapped on the surface of the porous tube via flow movement. The filtered output meets the strictest quality standards required by high-end industries such as aerospace aluminum, automotive aluminum, aluminum discs, foils, and beverage cans.

This is the industry-standard filtration device in Asia, offering the highest filtration performance.

  • With ultra-fine pore sizes (RC = 120 ppi, RD = 150 ppi), the PTF achieves exceptional filtration efficiency.
  • Low flow velocity enhances filtration quality. (Standard flow rate for Metalo filter: 16 kg/min/tube (RC))
  • Filtration surface area per unit: 14-tube set: 3.6 m² and 28-tube set: 7.2 m²
  • Rigid filtration media: Fired at high temperatures, compact and stable, providing deep filtration that retains impurities and results in high-purity molten aluminum.

PTF filters are widely adopted as a standard device across countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, North America, Oceania, and Asia. In Japan, leading manufacturers including Kobe Steel, Furukawa SKY, Mitsubishi Aluminium, Sumitomo Light Metal, and Japan Light Metal use PTF as the final filtration stage in their production processes.
