ROTOR

The degassing rotor — the core component of the degassing unit — is manufactured from silicon nitride ceramic, featuring a specially engineered, patented design developed by Mitsui Kinzoku. Using a degassing rotor to remove hydrogen and unwanted impurities from molten aluminum is one of the key steps in producing high-quality finished products.

Regarding the rotor – the main component of the degassing system – Boneng introduces to customers the Si₃N₄ rotor, made from silicon nitride ceramic with a patented special design by Mitsui Metal. This rotor features outstanding properties such as high wear resistance, high degassing efficiency, excellent acid resistance and high strength.

Traditionally, graphite rotors are commonly used. However, due to the inherent material properties of graphite, these rotors typically have a short service life. After approximately two weeks of actual operation, surface wear and degradation significantly reduce their degassing efficiency. In contrast, the silicon nitride rotor developed by Mitsui Kinzoku exhibits zero wear during operation. This ensures consistently high degassing performance over an extended period, offering exceptional reliability and stability. From a comprehensive perspective, including long-term degassing efficiency, extended lifespan, and reduced labor costs for rotor replacement. We firmly believe that Mitsui Kinzoku’s silicon nitride rotor delivers the best overall cost-performance ratio.
